I recently watched the documentary "In arte Mina" (Rai, 2020) and was
thunderstruck by the work of Mauro Balletti and Gianni Ronco, who since 1978
(i.e., since Mina's retirement from the stage), have invented a whole new image
for her: irreverent, ironic, irresistible, but above all constantly evolving.
Over the years the two have developed several concepts, below are just a few...
Inspired by this brilliant production, I also decided to try my hand at the image of Italy's most important voice. The result is these illustrations depicting Mina from the 1960s, Mina from the 1970s, and finally Mina from the 1980s onward.
For each of the illustrations I tried to work with a slightly different style, inspired
by the decade represented, the only constant being only the palette used.
