Last month finedininglovers.com asked me to realise an illustration for their on-line magazine. This image would have been featured in an article celebrating the amazing career of Delia Smith, a notorious British chef, who changed completely the culinary approach in the UK.
The portrait was realised with the digital painting technique in Photoshop.
I tried my best to capture Delia's expression and figure.
For the cakes around her, I took as reference the amazing illustrations in "Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management", a manual from the Victorian age first published in 1861. Since the book is still published today, I redrew completely all the cakes and pastries.
